Who’s behind Snap Planets Bio, what we cover, and how we try to get it right.

Who we are

SnapPlanetsBio started as a simple answer to a simple question: what does that little planet icon next to your friend’s name actually mean? From there it grew into a wider home for anyone trying to make sense of Snapchat — how the Friend Solar System works, who the creators everyone’s talking about actually are, and what’s changing on the app week to week.

If you landed here after typing something like “Snap Planets” or “Snapchat Friend Solar System” into Google, you’re in the right place.

What we cover

The site is organized into three sections, kept deliberately separate rather than mixed together:

  • Planets Guide — plain-language explanations of how the Friend Solar System ranks your closest connections.
  • Creator Bios — sourced profiles of public Snapchat creators, drawn from what they’ve shared themselves.
  • Trends & News — short, dated write-ups when Snapchat changes something that affects a lot of users.

Our approach

No aggregation, no guesswork dressed up as fact. If we can’t verify something, we say so instead of filling the gap.

  • Public information only. Creator bios draw from public profiles, interviews, and official statements — never private details.
  • Estimates are labeled as estimates. Earnings figures are marked as public estimates unless a creator has confirmed a number themselves.
  • Written and checked by people. Every page is drafted, fact-checked, and edited before it goes live — not auto-generated in bulk.
  • Dated and kept current. Pages show when they were published and last checked for accuracy.

Who runs this site

Snap Planets is an independently run site edited by Thomas, based in the United States. It isn’t a large newsroom — it’s a small, focused project, which is also why we’d rather publish fewer pages and get them right than rush out content just to cover more ground.

Not affiliated with Snap Inc.

We’re not part of Snapchat or Snap Inc., and we don’t have inside access to how their algorithm works. “Snapchat” and related marks belong to their respective owner and are referenced here only to describe and discuss the product.

Corrections & contact

We correct anything we get wrong. If you spot an error on any page, or you’re a creator with a correction about your own profile, reach out through our Contact page.
